thanks, as for fissidens i would like to know how it turns out for you and specs if possible if your successful growing it submerged.

No experience with that moss and lots of mixed reviews-some say emersed but not submerged, some say its ok submerged. If you can get a hold of a small portion and try it out, that might be the way to go.

well I’m planning to put up a 30L nano cube complete plus with monoselium tenerum pellia java-moss and dwarf hair grass or Fissidens splachnobryoides
    to Fissidens splachnobryoides:
nearly everyone I’ve asked said that this moss failed to grow in his tank! I really like it because it is so pretty but I don’t want to waste money on it when it fails -.-
    to dwarf hair grass:
I’m not planning on giving extra co2 to it!
will it grow or will it fail right at the beginning?
    Cheers Ryudo

Hey, dwarf grass never grows beyond a certain length right? I want to use it for a 10 gallon tank. It will be mostly tetras.

I want this dwarf hairgrass too, where to get it and is this the correct name?
    beautiful tank.

what kind of grass plant is that??

  13. ancientpimp on 12 May 2009 at 7:16 pm #

No experience with marine set up, but MH is usually what they use for live corals i believe. In a planted tank, you can go with compact fluorescent or T5 high output fluorescent, MH is pricey but why not if you can afford it.

Niice. I either want to set up a nano marine or a planted tank with heaps of grass. Would you recommend MH’s?

    thanks!!

it can but it depends if you have enough light,co2 and fertilizer plus it takes (for me) 3 months to cover my entire 30 gallon with just 4 pots of dwarf hairgrass, so ya it can be done. just be patient with it and spread it evenly of course so it can cover more of the tank.

is it true that if you buy just a litlle bii of hairgrass and plant it in a tank (no matter the size) it will soon cover the entire bottom??

  18. k9feces on 22 May 2009 at 4:55 pm #

true, when I was using collected plants I was finding damselfly larvae in my tank for months. I still have small snails, I forgot the species, but they seem harmless.

  19. ancientpimp on 24 May 2009 at 11:59 pm #

yes but there’s some pests that you can introduce to your tank. I’ve seen snails that don’t even die when submerged in pure clorox……

If you know what you are looking for you can find it growing along the sides of lakes and streams.

they wouldnt order it for you, i mean the store? Try planted tank forums, members usually sell or swap plants….who knows there could be someone close by thats willing to sell or give you clippings for free.

I love shrimps, mine are sneaky though, they used to steal food tablets from my corydoras, run away with them in their “arms” then hide on some higher location

right here on youtube, when you edit your vid, you’ll find audio tracks that you can swap for your video. Forgot what the title is but i think its under instrumental category.
