cool doing some reasech on the tunez 9002 and i was wondering if i really need the sump to use it. i am at the moment useing the oceanic biocube protein skimmer and frankly….its horrible…it just fills up with water and not waste. also i was wondering if u might be able to trhink of a rough estimate of how much u think you spent on constructing the sump. thanks for your help again =D.

The cpr sr3 skimmer is on most online stores,, but I have since moved up to a Tunze 9002 and it is a much better and quieter skimmer. hope this helps :)

the back is almost impossible to clean coraline off of :( it is made of plastic. don’t worry about it just let nature run it’s course.

well thank you for your reply and i was wondering if it does build up on the back of the bio cube is it easy to get off or is the back plastic or something?????

coralline is beautiful dont scrape it off!

  16. vavoomskill on 31 Mar 2009 at 11:54 am #

Good question! only thing you can do to limit the occurrence of corline is to try and keep it out in the first place, so if you buy liverock try not to get any with purple on them:)

hi i am getting a 12 gallon biocube here in a few weeks and i was wondering how do you prevent the coaral build up on the sides of the glass and the back?? i know some people like it but its just not appealing to me please help!

  20. vavoomskill on 09 Apr 2009 at 4:39 pm #

sounds like an ok lineup to me. full house but thats cool. I don’t think you will have any problems with the goby and blenny if you have enough cover and caves all over the tank.

  21. romsoccer12 on 10 Apr 2009 at 2:11 am #

you think a good group of fish for my 29gal could 2 black ocellaris clownfish 1 jawfish 1 starry blenny and a sixline possibly a watchmen goby or do you think the goby/blenny could fight or its to cramped thx for all your help

  22. vavoomskill on 12 Apr 2009 at 1:01 pm #

Bought a socket and a stock ballast wired it in and added a 50/50 bulb, it was a lot cheaper than nanotuners kit and i also added a 80mm silenx fan. DIY is the way to go just “have at it” :)
