Or you could just continue to do regular water changes, which does the same thing, and doesn’t overdose your aquarium w/ iodines and other chemicals in purple up

Also, to the d00d underneath me, water changes arnt going to guarantee coralline algae growth, although i have found running a plenum system seems to make coralline grow quicker then just a deep sand bed. Oh and ‘iodines and other chemicals’ .. iodine, especially, is a requirement in any reef tank, as are most of the others that come in purple up. People OD with PU because they are impatient.

also you must have at least some coraline algea to start with, or it wont grow and all you will get is nusiance algea.

I cant use that stuff because it makes my calcium levels go up too high

Need alot more water flow ova ya toadstall, mine love it and doubled in size over about 5 months.

you can get purple up from any petstoe with saltwater fish or you can buy online i like dr smith and foster!

how often you put, purple up in to your reef tank,

how long has the coral been closed up for. i had a toad stool coral (lost to long island heat wave summer 08) he would take a day for one shedding and then a week or two for another. also, they need allot of water movement. have it aimed directly at it so it gets the blast. good luck and nice tank

i dont use purple up….my tank is 4 months old and waaaaaaaaay more purple than that.
