Joshjlo86 asked:

Ive moved some coral around and My second heniochus died, so i’m gonna hold off on getting another one till my tank filters more. I have added a Yellowtail Damsel and a big rock with Green tip Polyps. Ive moved my tank around to look more natural now and it looks great. I am very pleased. I’m also showing you how I altered my filteration in the back so it is cheaper to keep up with. It also shows my Oceanic Protein skimmer and how I clean the Collection Chamber. I will have an update when I …

youve killed two henis. why would you get another one? your just killing them, save them for someone who can actually keep them.

They are good if you only keep corals that dont need a lot of light. But if you want sps corals like i did with my biocube you will have to get new lighting and with that route you you will be better off with a regular tank. Otherwise, to keep something simple for a beginner, the biocube is very good.

Very kewl. How would you rate these? I was thinking about getting one for my niece. I had aquariums when I was younger. I figure this is easy as a kit. I saw the bio cube at Petco

I dont think the brand matters, as long as it works and fits in the filter

the filtration system that comes with the biocube is enough to keep the anenome’s and the live rocks alive and healthy?

what is the brand of that filter sheet you have? I saw one in a local pet store but I wasn’t sure if it the same one that you have…

the clowns and maybe one tang. If you want to put them all you can, but the tangs will get too big for your tank eventualy, plus yellow tangs are aggressive, so if you put them in make sure they go in last. That should be the limit of fish you can put in a 29 gallon. I have a little bit more now, ill post the new video soon, but my new fish are small ones.

Thanks a lot for the info .I saw same model you have at marinedepot dot com when I was ordering salt for my fowler 55 gallon going to order it now as wanted reef set up like yours and lighting is not something I know much about but this comes with it again thanks

I love this model. Its definatley a lot cheaper then the Red Sea Max. I altered the filteration on my own because i wanted to. I took out all the biocubes and replaced it with live rock in the back. If you look at part 2 of this video, I show how I altered the filteration pads. Thats about all I did. I also put a pouch of carbon in the left sump area in the back.

Overall are you happy with the tank ? I ask as looking into same model.

Did you have to change anything like filtration, etc?

I read the lighting you left as is

  22. Joshjlo86 on 05 Apr 2009 at 12:11 am #

    Nope

  23. Pols7ca on 06 Apr 2009 at 9:36 pm #

Did you make any modifications for the lighting?

  24. joeja02 on 08 Apr 2009 at 6:36 am #

be careful about the green stare plops they grow vary fast and they. will if not cared for properly kill all the coral you have and take over the tank so be sore to trim them every once and a while.
