My new Biocube 29 Gallon

shanedj2001 asked:

This is my new Biocube 29 gallon. I decided to ditch the “home setup” and join the “nano revolution.” I am most proud of of my mandarin goby or my striped dragonet. Whichever you want to call it. Those corals that I zoomed in on are Pom Pom xenias. I have 2 of the blood red fire shrimp only one came out. Enjoy

Hey, sorry for the delay. But there have been things going on with my e-mail. I had to buy it seperate. I do a water change every week. I usually try to take out at least 10%. If I can’t do it that week I do a 20% change the next time I do it. I don’t have any complaints about the tank, except it occasionaly leaks from the top when you have too much current in one area. Hope this helps!

Hey go back to that “local aquarium place” and tell that guy that told you that, that he’s a complet moron!! This 29 gallon biocube is advertised for marine. So how could 55 gallon be the minimum. That guy shouldnt be working there. In fact, if they have one of these biocubes there at that store, show him the picture on the box becuase even the picture has it set up as a salt water and a freshwater tank.

Thanks..sorry to ask you so many questions but was the protein skimmer built into the tank or did u have to buy it seperate?
I asked the guy at the local quarium place and he said that the minimum for a marine tank is 55 gallons. How often do u do water changes and what kind of water do you use.
Did u have to do some research on it before you bought the tank or read a book or website?
Awesome selection of fish by the way. Theyre beautiful.

First of all, Thank You. It is a big commitment to keep a marine tank. It’s not like a fresh tank where you can kind of just add food. I would say by the end of this tank it cost me around $800. That’s including rocks, sand, water, fish, tank, stand, etc. I would recomend the protein skimmer. I don’t know about the calcium reactor but I have a protein skimmer in this tank. I have to update this video b/c I now have some clownfish and redesigned my tank. Good Luck!!!

that fish is so beautiful. I have 2 freshwater tanks …i want a marine tank sooo bad but just afraid of the time it takes to maintain them. How much did everything cost you? Does it need/have a calcium reactor and/or a protein skimmer?

Mandarin goby, green dragonet, striped dragonet. These are all different names for the same fish. Nice fish peaceful harder to keep. Not for beginners. Hope this helped. Good luck!
