Water Change 29 Gallon Oceanic Biocube

Joshjlo86 asked:

This is the easy way of doing a water change. Those without a pump need to get a short hose or tube to create a suction. Ill try and do another video to show people without a pump how to create a suction with a tube.

what kind of fish do you have and how many?

I don’t have a bio cube, but I run my actinics from 7am-9am then run the 50/50’s with the actinics from 9am-7pm then just actinics again from 7pm-9pm, I then just leave the LED moonlights on overnight. It works best if you get a powerstrip with a timer on it so it can be hands off. This is the best way to simulate a day cycle for your reef/fish though.

you should use the pump that you use to suck the water out of the tank for putting the water back in

why not put the pump back into your “mixing bucket” and just have it transfer the freshly mixed water back into your tank?

    Are You stupid??

cool, when did you get it, yea I have a 12g I put it on my dresser, but I dont know if a dresser can hold a 29g tank, w/sand, and rock. Unless its really big.

  15. lilbluependragon on 27 Jul 2009 at 11:34 am #

I got the 29 gallon. Right now I am trying to find something to put it on. I don’t want to pay $180.00 for the stand but I may have to, its such a weird shape I can’t find a table to sit it on that would hold it. :(

cool, what size did you get, no the bio balls are pretty much LR except not as good, but if you have them ans LR you get a bit better biological filtration, in my aqaupod I have bio-balls in my filter, and LR in the display area, but its totally up to you,

I did end up buying one actually, and I LOVE IT! I have a question (for anyone), is there a point to putting in the bio balls even though its a salt water tank with live rock?

  18. APoirier594 on 02 Aug 2009 at 6:41 am #

yea its a great tank, my friend has one and I have a aqua-pod, its the same thing except for a diff. brand. But I like the bio-cube more, id get one if i were you

b/c it would be really boring to just watch the water level slowly rise

  20. biodarwin on 06 Aug 2009 at 1:56 am #

Why don’t you use the pump to put the water back in?

  21. rbby228 on 06 Aug 2009 at 9:05 pm #

bio balls are used to allow beneficial bacteria to grow on them to break down harmful waste

  22. iiicoco on 08 Aug 2009 at 9:19 am #

it doesn’t because its really wide opposed to the skinnier longer tanks

  23. geedunk13 on 08 Aug 2009 at 12:59 pm #

    it, def, is
